The girl who fought for herself!

I lost my dad to cancer 5 years ago. Though it was tough for us, my mother got over it soon and got married again the next year. I didn’t like my step-father but we somehow co-existed in the same house. However, about 2 years ago, he assaulted me. I confronted my mother but I guess she was completely spellbound by him, and instead shamed me for causing a rift in between them.

That was the time when I realized I have completely lost my mother. I didn’t think twice and left my home the same evening. I moved to a different city and stayed with my friend for a while. I got a job in a travel company and that’s how I was introduced to this beautiful world of traveling and exploring.

It’s been more than 2 years now, and I’m still working with that company, living in a new city with my boyfriend, and travel to different places almost every month. And yes, I’ve never been this happy in my life before. I do receive calls and messages from my mother once in a while, but I don’t talk to her and am not interested in talking to her ever in my life. I’ve found a perfect family for myself here in my friends, my work, and in my travels.
